Family urges missing man to let them know he is safe

Mr Hodgson-Greaves has been missing for more than 10 days and his family are keen for him to get in touch.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said searches were continuing around the Bempton Cliffs area, near Bridlington, where his camper van was located in the RSPB car park on December 21.

Mr Hodgson-Greaves’s mum and his sisters, Julia, Rachel and Kate, are all keen to hear from 
him and have issued a statement in the hope that he will get in touch.

It reads: “Simon, we hope that you are safe and well and we ask that you contact either the police or one of us to let us know that you are.

“We miss you very much and we can help sort out anything if you will only talk to us.

“Just also to let you know that mum is not well again and would really like to see you as soon as possible please.

“Thinking of you and hoping we will see you very soon. Lots of love, Mum, Julia, Rachel and Kate.”

Despite extensive searches of the area around Bempton Cliffs, near Bridlington, there has been no trace of him.

The police have said he is known to enjoy camping and it is not unusual for him to spend days away at a time.

However, officers are concerned for his safety as nobody has seen or heard from and he has not returned to his van for a considerable length of time.

Officers are appealing to the public, especially people who have been in the Bempton Cliffs area to contact them if they think they may have seen Mr Hodgson-Greaves or have any information about his whereabouts.

He is described as white, around 6ft tall, with a slim build. He has sandy coloured hair, a greying beard and moustache, blue eyes and wears spectacles.

It is not known what he will be wearing. However, he is known to dress very smartly and often wears tweed jackets, shirts and scarves.

Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and pass information to the Force Control Room.
