Fans kept waiting – again

Headliners Guns N' Roses closed the Leeds Festival last night by keeping fans on tenterhooks until the last minute.

There were rumours that the US metal band was not going to appear, after a disappointing appearance at the Reading Festival on Friday – where they took to the stage an hour late and as a result their set had to be cut short.

It didn't stop lead singer Axl Rose tearing into the festival's organisers for preventing the band from playing an encore.

Last night, his band was 30 minutes behind schedule at Bramham Park, near Leeds – but got a rapturous reception anyway.

Another American rock act, Queens Of The Stone Age, was yesterday's other big act, on a chilly and occasionally showery last day.
