Farm set to promote food festival

A FARM with almost 200 years of heritage behind it has signed up to join this year’s Wakefield Food, Drink and Rhubarb Festival.

Dobson’s farm in Carlton have joined in to be included in the event, providing locally grown produce including their famous Yorkshire Indoor Rhubarb. The farm, owned by John Dobson & Son opened their Rhubarb Triangle Farm Shop last year. The Dobson’s will be bringing their vintage trailer with them to the festival that was used to transport their produce in the 1940’s.

Coun David Dagger, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for Culture, said: “I’m really pleased to welcome the Dobson’s to the festival and know that they will make a great contribution to what is set to be one of the best Food, Drink and Rhubarb festivals yet.”

The festival takes on February 22-24.
