Farmers' market date rescheduled

A CHRISTMAS farmers' market which had to be cancelled last weekend because of the weather has been rescheduled.

The Humber Bridge Christmas Farmers' Market and Craft Fair will now be held on December 12.

Neil Marshall, business manager at the Humber Bridge said: "We were sorry that the December event had to be rearranged, but we needed to concentrate our resources on keeping the Humber Bridge open throughout the bad weather.

"This special market is a great opportunity for visitors to stock up for Christmas, with a fantastic range of locally-produced meat, vegetables, fruit, preserves, bread and cheese, as well as a range of local speciality produce available."

In addition to festive foods, visitors will also be able to do some Christmas shopping at the dedicated craft section.

The market is accredited by FARMA (The National Farmers' Retail & Markets Association) which acts as a guarantee to visitors that all food sold at the market has been produced locally, and is being sold directly by people involved in the production process. There will be no farmers' market on the first Sunday of January 2011.
