Fight between 100 people in market town breaks out ahead of horse fair

A fight between around 100 people broke out last night, which had led police to step up patrols in a market town.

Humberside Police believe the violence related to Brigg Horse Fair and officers have arrested a man.

Superintendent Ed Cook, Operational Commander for North Lincolnshire, said: “We have one person in custody as part of our investigations into a fight between around 100 people in Brigg last night, which we believe to be related to the Horse Fair.

“We would like to reassure residents that this incident is being thoroughly investigated and in the meantime we will also have an increased presence in Brigg whilst the Horse Fair is in town.”
