Fire crews carry out inspection after incident at HMP Humber

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called to the prison in Sand Lane, North Cave at 9.50pm last night.

A spokesman said a small quantity of paper and clothing had been involved in a fire.

He said prison staff had used a water misting unit to put out the flames and the fire service was only required to carry out an inspection.

HMP Humber is a Category C resettlement prison which was formed during the merger of HMP Wolds and HMP Everthorpe.
