Five exclusions from school for boy, four

LITTLE Dylan Wilson is only four, but he has already been excluded from his school five times after staff have claimed they cannot cope with his behaviour.

The youngster has been removed from both nursery and reception classes in the last 18 months, but his mother has maintained it is not her son's fault.

Jessica Wilson claimed that he had not been given the correct support after starting school the day after his father, Shaun, hanged himself in 2008.

But teachers have said that his spitting, kicking, biting and throwing books was overtaken by the latest incident in which he was allegedly slapped by a teaching assistant after he grabbed her chest.

Mrs Wilson, of Parson Cross, Sheffield, said she was angry after the staff member accused of lashing out at Dylan returned to work at Monteney Primary School in Sheffield.

The 29-year-old, who also has a daughter Chelsea, 12, and another son, Dean, 10, said: "Dylan has been hard for teachers to deal with, but he is still suffering from the death of his father.

"In my opinion they have not been fair to Dylan."

Mrs Wilson is now refusing to let Dylan return to the school and he is being taught two mornings a week at a special "primary inclusion unit".

Monteney Primary School's executive headteacher Nicola Shipman said: "When the incident with the teaching assistant took place we took immediate action by suspending the individual and reported it to the police.

"I am confident that the way the member of staff reacted was completely out of character. She was very upset after it happened. No action was taken by the police and the matter is resolved."
