A colourful array of kites took to the skies above Harewood House at the weekend as amateurs joined professionals to show off their skills.
Three year-old Ellie Shederey, above, from Alwoodley, Leeds, was among the thousands of visitors who made the most of the Harewood Kite Festival.
The heavens above the home of the Earl and Countess of Harewood at Leeds were transformed into a playground for various creations skilfully controlled from the ground on Saturday and Sunday.
Kite display teams travelled from across the country to show off their skills, including a 13-year-old boy, who despite flying kites for just seven months, flies three two-line kites simultaneously. PICTURES: GARY LONGBOTTOM
