Flights cancelled at Leeds Bradford Airport as fog lingers

Three incoming flights and three outgoing flights were cancelled at the airport today(Wednesday November 4) due to fog lingering across the country this morning.

The 8:40am British Airways flight from London Heathrow to LBA was cancelled today along with the Flybe 7:45am flight from Belfast and the 8am Aer Lingus flight from Dublin.

Outgoing flights which have been cancelled are the KLM 6:10am flight from LBA to Amsterdam, the Flybe 8:10am to Belfast and the British Airways 0:20am to London Heathrow.

Tony Hallwood, LBA aviation development director, said: "We are expecting the weather to improve as the morning progresses. We are expecting our operations later in the morning."

Passengers travelling today are abeing advised check for updates on flights on the Leeds Bradford Airport website.

Mr Hallwood added: "We would like to thank passengfers fopr tyher patience during the adverse weather conditions."

A numer of flights were cancelld at Leeds Bradford on Monday as thick fog caused travel travel disruption across the UK and northern Europe.

Some 129 flights – equivalent to 10 per cent of departures – were cancelled at Heathrow Airport on Monday while London City, Gatwick, Manchester, Liverpool John Lennon, Glasgow, Belfast and Southampton airports were also affected
