Flip side of the Dean
Dean of Ripon Keith Jukes gets off to a flying start as he flips a pancake in the city’s historic Shrove Tuesday races.
Setting off from the famous cathedral, he raced members of the community along Kirkgate as excited crowds cheered them on. This year the pancakes were decorated in red, white and blue to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Mr Jukes said it had been “a delight” to take part.
