Food firm denies failing to consult over job fears
Ireland-based Kerry Foods has begun a 90-day consultation over the future of the site at Europarc, which could close with the loss of 337 jobs.
The Unite union, which has about 45 members at the site, claimed it has been excluded from the process, but the firm said the union was not recognised and talks were being held with a works committee.

Hide AdKerry Foods spokesman Frank Hayes said: “Unite are not recognised on site. We have a works committee in place and we are proactively engaging with them in the consultation process. The works committee is made up of elected employee representatives across the site. Unite are not recognised in terms of collective bargaining, nor were they by the previous owners.”
The company took over the plant from Headland Foods a year ago.
