Food for thought as restaurants and bars cut prices

RESTAURATEURS will be serving up a treat for customers in Hull next week when discounted meals will be on the menu.

The second annual Hull Dine Week will see 15 city centre restaurants and caf bars slashing prices as they aim to reward regulars and attract new customers.

The event, being organised by Hull’s Business Improvement District (BID), will see participating outlets offer a single-course lunch for 5 and a two-course dinner for 10 between October 11 and 17.

BID manager Kathryn Shillito said: “We introduced Hull Dine Week last year and the feedback was very positive.

“Many of the restaurants that took part boosted their revenue, particularly on nights that are usually quiet for businesses.

“This year we’ve again had a terrific response from the restaurants and the result is that diners will be spoilt for choice with options like the seafood at Ceruttis, traditional Italian at Operetta, the bistro style of Rayella’s 10 and much more.”

Tony Cerutti, owner of Ceruttis in Nelson Street, said the success of last year’s Hull Dine Week encouraged him to take part again.

“How well you do depends upon how much you put into it, but it’s a good idea and we support it. Last year we did a different menu every day and we’ll probably do the same again.”
