Former county cricketer charged with conspiracy to commit fraud
Former Essex county cricketer Mervyn Westfield, 22, was charged with conspiracy to defraud yesterday over claims he deliberately played poorly as part of a gambling swindle.
The charges against the pace bowler from Chelmsford arise from a one-day match in 2009.
