Four men in custody as family pay tribute to murdered father-of-one

THE family of a 22-year-old man who died following an assault in Leeds last night paid tribute to him.

Thomas Ball, a father-of-one, of Woodview Terrace, Beeston, Leeds, was found with serious injuries at a property on Headingley Lane,

Headingley, Leeds, on Monday night.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment, but died on Tuesday afternoon.

His fiancee Danielle Halles said yesterday: "Thomas was looking forward to our life together and with our son Tyler. He will be sadly missed."

A statement issued by Mr Ball's family said: "Thomas Ball was a loving son, stepson, father, brother and grandson. He was especially devoted to his family, especially his year-old son Tyler."

The family statement said Mr Ball would "be in our hearts always and never be forgotten" and said he would be sadly missed.

A post mortem carried out has established the 22-year-old died as a result of an assault.

West Yorkshire Police said yesterday that seven men had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Last night two 20-year-old men and two 21-year-old men remained in police custody after they were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Three other men, previously arrested, were later released without charge.
