Four quizzed after man shot in leg

Four men were arrested after a man was shot in the leg on Christmas night, police said.

Merseyside Police were called to the West Derby public house in West Derby, Liverpool, at around 10.15pm on Christmas Day after members of the public reported hearing gun fire.

A short time later a 23-year-old man attended a nearby hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.

His condition is not life threatening, police said.

A 30-year-old man from Northwich, Cheshire, along with three men from Liverpool aged 21, 23 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

They remain in custody for questioning.
