Four taken to hospital after car hits lamppost near Keighley

A motorist and three passengers suffered injuries after a car crashed into a lamppost near Keighley.

The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Crosa, which was travelling along the A629 Steeton bypass towards Keighley when it left the road and struck a lamppost, close to the roundabout at Steeton.

It happened at around 2.25am yesterday morning (Sunday.

The 18-year-old man driving the car suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital, where he police said he remains today.

A 16-year-old woman also suffered serious head and pelvic injuries and remains in hospital.

The two other passengers in the car were also taken to hospital but later released after treatment.

None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
