Fragrance kicks off the World Cup

Pop beauty Rachel Stevens is reaching some new top notes by launching a World Cup fragrance.

She is the face of a new scent called Eau De Stade which is designed to combine the smells of the football field and the host country South Africa.

The unisex perfume has been created by Sky+HD in advance of the finals this month and will be on sale for a limited time.

As well as essential oils sourced from South Africa, it features the smell of fresh grass, leathery notes and the musky hints of sweat.

Top 'nose' John Bailey of The Perfumers Guild Limited conjured up the new aroma. "The fragrance not only hits the back of the net with the classic scents of football from around the world, but also the aromas of the host nation.

"Salty notes have been used to encapsulate the smell of the fresh sea breeze in Cape Town."
