TIM Mickleburgh says motorists are lucky (The Yorkshire Post, April 1) to have had the petrol tax frozen.

I did not have my car given to me. I bought it, pay the cost of petrol (including a very large percentage of tax), road tax, servicing etc, but do not begrudge a penny.

I enjoy the freedom and convenience my car gives me.

ONCE charities raised money by appealing to the public. Nowadays (The Yorkshire Post, April 1) they sue councils if they don’t get a handout.
