French students in call for protests
France's university and high school student unions called for nationwide protests yesterday as the third consecutive day of nationwide strikes over retirement reform also raised fears of possible fuel shortages.
The students and labour unions see President Nicolas Sarkozy’s push to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62 as an attack on their well-deserved social protections.
