Full steam ahead to fun

Thomas The Tank Engine and Sir Topham Hatt are making guest appearances at the Harewood House Steam Rally on Sunday, August 29, and Monday 30, at the stately home north of Leeds.

The rally includes the hissing and smoking steam engines, musical steam-powered organs, a fun fair, classic cars and motorbikes and tractors.

The historic home's grounds will also host a miniature steam engine display, children's workshops, a face painter, craft activities, food stalls and the Fun Time Express Land Train.

A spokeswoman for Harewood said: "This is the first year the rally will feature Thomas the Tank Engine, accompanied by Sir Topham Hatt, making it the ideal day out and a great way to let off some steam."

Tickets for the event, which runs from 10am to 5pm, can be booked for the event at www.harewood.org
