Fundraisers spin to win

The World Cup was kicked into touch for at least one evening last night as charity fundraisers battled for victory in a knockout competition.

Teams from the Clarion Solicitors LLP Corporate Challenge took each other on in a knockout tournament at the Queen's Hotel, Leeds. Mike Tomlinson is pictured taking on Leeds Rhinos player Ryan Hall in a table football competition, watched by referee Mike Riley.

The competition raised cash as part of money-spinning efforts for Jane Tomlinson's Leeds 10K run – the biggest mass participation running event in Yorkshire – which takes place on Sunday.

Top referee Riley was on hand to oversee proceedings and ensure fair play.

Guests included Leeds Rhinos players Luke Ambler, Chris Clarkson and Ryan Hall who switched sports for the evening to battle it out for the trophy. Guest speaker was Yorkshire rugby legend John Bentley.
