Galloway calls for removal of school trust

A BRADFORD MP has put down a Parliamentary motion calling for a free school to be taken out of the control of the trust which runs it after a critical Ofsted report.

George Galloway has responded to the education watchdog’s latest visit to the Kings Science Academy, in Bradford.

Ofsted found senior leaders and governors were failing to taking effective action to improve the school. It said the school needs to secure new “additional leadership.”

Mr Galloway’s motion says “that past and present trustees and governors have signally failed pupils and parents and are not fit for purpose and that the school should be removed from the control of the trust that set it up.”

The school has also been engulfed in a scandal after a Government audit appeared to show fabricated invoices were submitted to claim public money. The school’s principal Sajid Raza was arrested and bailed earlier this year.
