Gamers join queues for new Xbox gadget

Keen gamers were already queuing yesterday morning for the midnight launch of Microsoft's new Xbox 360 Kinect.

The device uses special cameras which allow the game console to track the movements of users. It means that they can control the device without a hand-held controller and it has been tipped as a Christmas best-seller, despite its 129.99 price tag.

UK retailer Game was releasing the first of the devices at midnight and said customers had been queuing since 9am outside its Oxford Street store in London.

Game spokesman Neil Ashurst said: "We're excited to be opening our Game stores across the country at midnight. Our customers and staff are equally excited to experience Kinect. This is definitely going to be on Christmas wishlists around the country."
