Gang of van raiders leave cash behind
Three masked men, armed with iron bars and a sledge hammer, demanded a cash box from a delivery van security guard.
The G4S delivery van was targeted as it arrived at the Halifax Bank on Wharf Street, Sowerby Bridge, on Thursday.
After threatening the guard they grabbed the box, before trying to smash a glass door leading into the bank with the sledgehammer. When they failed, the men fled in a waiting blue Volkswagen Golf – leaving the cash box behind.
