German Christmas market returns

The German Christmas Market returns to Millennium Square in Leeds this week.

As more than 40 German traders will create a scenic winter village of traditional wooden chalet stalls, the Christkindelmarkt offers everything from food and drink to seasonal gift ideas, toys, jewellery, Christmas cards and festive decorations.

It will be open daily from Friday until Sunday, December 19, and also features the Frankfurter-Scheune, an authentic bierkeller serving up real German bier. Aside from the market there is also a family funfair.

It opens daily 10.30am-9pm, Monday to Saturday and 10.30am-8pm on Sundays. The bierkeller and selected stalls will open until 11pm.

Because of arrangements for Remembrance Sunday the market will not open until 12pm on Sunday.
