Girl remains ‘serious’ after
tragic crash

The 15-year-old was with Koen Allwood, also 15 and a pupil at Baysgarth School, when they were struck as they crossed a road in Barton-upon-Humber.

Koen, described as a “kind, gentle lad”, died in hospital following the incident about 10.50pm on Wednesday as they crossed Dam Road, near the junction with Humber Road.

Two men, 23, who were travelling in the car, were arrested afterwards.

Police are taking no further action over the passenger, but the driver has been released on police bail on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A Facebook memorial page for Koen has attracted nearly 2,500 “likes”.
