Go-ahead for bus corridor project

A scheme to improve bus journeys along one of the busiest commuter routes in Leeds has been given the go-ahead.

The Department of Transport has awarded almost 20m for the A65 bus corridor, which it is hoped will mean improvements to bus travel along Kirkstall Road.

Preliminary works will start this month and major building work in April. It is expected to take two years to complete.

It will deliver new bus lanes to both sides of the road, together with cycle lanes and new or improved pedestrian crossings.
