Golden girl: Olympic star honoured by Queen
YORKSHIRE golden girl Jessica Ennis has been honoured for her London 2012 Olympic achievements by the Queen.
The athlete, who took heptathlon gold, was presented with a CBE at Buckingham Palace yesterday. She was joined by a host of other Olympic stars including Leeds boxer Nicola Adams who also received honours at the ceremony. Miss Ennis said: ”It was just an amazing year for British athletics and British sport and to be part of that in such a big way was incredible.”
