Golf course to get £200,000 revamp

TINSLEY Park Golf Course is set to undergo improvements totalling £200,000, including a revamp of the clubhouse where the first Lord Mayor of Sheffield once lived.

The work on the clubhouse is due to be completed by April 1 and is set to include changes to the public areas and changing rooms.

Andy Carnall, golf manager at Sheffield International Venues which runs the 18-hole course, said: "A portion of the money will be spent on repairs to the outer shell of the building, and the majority will be spent on decorating the interior of the building, particularly the pro shop and changing rooms."

Other improvements include the addition of a caf and bar into the downstairs area of the clubhouse, which will be open to both the public and golfers.

A similar 250,000 project has recently been completed at Tapton Park Golf Course.
