Viewers on social media shared the 30-year-old mum-of-three’s joy after she clinched the title with a trio of puds - including a wedding cake as her final showstopper.
A tearful Nadiyam, who lives in Roundhay/Oakwood, spoke of feeling like “a giant” when her win was announced, adding she was now “a much stronger, confident person”.
She told the camera: “I’m never going to put boundaries on myself ever again. I’m never going to say ‘I can’t do it’. I’m never going to say ‘maybe’. I’m never going to say ‘I don’t think I can’. I can and I will.”
YEP readers were quick to comment on our Facebook page, with Lord Wot Wot writing: “Well done and well deserved!”
Aces dded: “Fantastic baker performed consistently well throughout, pulled some memorable faces and deserved to win. Well done Nadiya, wish you all the best for the future.
And her win took Twitter by storm, with many speaking of their pride of the local Leeds lass’ achievements.
