Grandson of murder victim held by police

THE grandson of an 83-year-old woman found beaten to death in her home has been arrested after three days on the run.

James Langlands, also known as Jack, 26, was yesterday held by officers in the Peterborough area.

He was wanted for questioning over the murder of Doris Langlands who was found dead with head injuries at her home in north London on Sunday evening.

Neighbours described the pensioner as "friendly", "sweet" and a "traditional grandmother".

Police issued an appeal to find Mr Langlands soon afterwards and warned the public not approach him.
