Grimsby: Mystery over death of four-year-old girl
The death of a four-year-old girl who was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries remains unexplained, police have said.
Poppy Widdison, of Ladysmith Road, Grimsby, died at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Humberside Police said Poppy was taken to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, in Grimsby, with serious injuries on Sunday and later transferred to Sheffield.

Hide AdA 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, who were arrested in connection with the incident, remain in police custody.
A force spokesman said: “The exact circumstances into her death are still being investigated by detectives and at this time it remains unexplained.”
Poppy’s family said they do not wish to comment.
