Group to deliver key rural schemes

The latest bid to streamline civic services across North Yorkshire will see the launch of a powerful new group to deliver key rural regeneration schemes.

The Hambleton and Richmondshire Strategic Forum replaces the Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP) for both districts, but will still deliver community-based projects.

Led by chairman Rosemary Taylor, it brings together a wide range of organisations and groups in the area, covering the public, private, voluntary and community sectors.

The forum will tackle the priorities identified in the North Yorkshire, Hambleton and Richmondshire Sustainable Community Strategies - including supporting economic growth, employment and isolated rural communities.

Mrs Taylor said: “This is a very exciting new forum. It will be a new way of working but one that will be more efficient and increase the emphasis on the delivery of local schemes in our communities. In challenging financial times people and organisations need to work together creatively to find a sustainable solution.”

Hambleton District and North Yorkshire County Councillor Carl Les has been appointed vice chairman.
