Growing fears as mounted police join search for missing woman, 47

MOUNTED police have joined the search for a missing Hull woman whose uncle disappeared two years ago.

Diann Conboy, 47, was reported missing a fortnight ago and was last seen at her home in Ashthorpe on the city’s Orchard Park estate at about 2pm on Tuesday, December 20.

She previously went missing in October but was found the next day at an address in Cottingham.

However, police say they are “extremely concerned” for her welfare for health reasons.

The search was extended into fields around the A1079 yesterday and is also being assisted by volunteers from a search and rescue charity, the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue, who combed the site of Sir Henry Cooper School, close to Mrs Conboy’s home, last week. Pc Alex Longbone, from Hull’s missing persons and exploitation team, said: “A large amount of land around Diann’s home address has been searched over the Christmas and new year period.

“We are continuing to appeal to members of the public to check outbuildings, garages and sheds. This is extremely important as Diann was reported missing in October 2011 and was located having taken shelter in a garage.

“I would also urge anyone who has seen Diann since Tuesday 20th December to contact us immediately as we are keen to establish a direction of travel from her home address.”

She also issued a direct appeal to Mrs Conboy to get in touch.

“Finally, Diann if you see this appeal please contact either the police or a member of your family. Your call will be treated with confidence and we do not have to disclose your location to anyone if you do not want us to, but we need to know you are safe and well.”

Mrs Conboy is 5ft 3in, of slim build, has short, brown hair, and occasionally wears glasses.

Anyone with information call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log 697 of December 21, 2011.
