Grudge man jailed over attack on former teacher

A man who held a 20-year grudge against his former headteacher has been jailed for a minimum of three years for brutally attacking him in a chance encounter in a takeaway.

Jermaine Bullen, 26, left Kieran Heakin unconscious and lying in a pool of blood after he delivered countless punches and kicks to his head.

One witness said he thought the victim was going to be killed by Bullen, a former pupil at St John's Primary School in Rochdale when Mr Heakin was headteacher.

Bullen, who has previous convictions for violence, and burglary, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and will have to satisfy a parole board he is not a danger to the public before he can be released.
