Gun crime: Wounded man turns up at hospital after shots reported in Bradford

A wounded man turned up at a hospital last night after shots were fired at a house in Bradford.

Police said the 21-year-old man arrived at the hospital with suspected gunshot wounds to his back.  

A spokesman said he remains in hospital in a stable condition today (Friday).

Firearms officers had been dispatched to an address in Scholemoor Avenue at about 7.36pm yesterday after gunshots were reported. 

They confirmed there had been a weapon had been fired and found damage to a door and window.  

The occupants of the address were found to be safe and well, but further enquiries established that an injured man had turned up at a hospital.

The spokesman said: "Increased patrols are operating in the area today to offer reassurance to local residents, although this is believed to be a targeted attack." 

Enquiries are continuing at the scene today.
