Hall enters competition for county’s top photographs

AMATEUR photographers in the East Riding are being invited to capture the best of the great outdoors in a competition being run by staff at an historic country house.

Sewerby Hall and Gardens has launched its third annual Coast, Sea and Sky competition, and entries are being invited which have “the natural world of East Yorkshire at heart”.

The winning photograph in each category will receive a professionally mounted print supplied by Ben Walker of Gallerina Studios.

Last year, the competition was won by Roger Brown for his dramatic shot of stormy seas at Bridlington.

It is the third photography competition launched in the East Riding in the last month, following one being run by the RSPB to picture the “world-class” wildlife around the Humber estuary, and the Give Us Your Best Shot competition, run by East Riding cultural partnership, which invites people to take pictures showing what the East Riding means to them.

Full details of the latest competition, including a set of rules and an application form, can be downloaded from the Sewerby Hall website at www.sewerby-hall.co.uk.

Alternatively, call the estate office on 01262 673769.

The closing date for entries is Friday July 1.
