The classic JK Rowling tales of a young wizard and his classmates' adventures captured the imagination of a whole generation of children all over the world.

Such was its popularity that it has become a cult classic for younger children as it proves to transcend the passage of time, opening up the universe and characters the now world-famous author penned back in 1997 when the first book, The Philosopher's Stone, was originally published.

Seven books and a whole movie franchise later and the fantasy series is now firmly embedded in our culture as a much-loved literary and cinematic series.

The films created stars of the actors and actresses who took up the roles of characters children had been imagining for years.

Daniel Radcliffe was cast as Harry Potter himself, Emma Watson is now known for her role as leading lady and Harry's friend Hermione Granger while Rupert Grint starred as Ron Weasley.

Ron had twin brothers, Fred and George, and it was Oliver Phelps who was cast as George who reveled on his Instagram account the location in Leeds where he first auditioned for the role, alongside his brother James.

Phelps, 32, visited The Queens Hotel in Leeds city centre and took pictures while inside, which he posted to his one million followers on the social media network, pointing out the exact spot in a corridor he and his brother stood waiting to be auditioned.

He wrote alongside the three pictures: "Whist here in Leeds I decided to go to literally the place where it all began.

"I found the exact spot where @jamesphelps_pictures & I lined up for our number to audition for Harry Potter.

"The ballroom that was used for a waiting room (for a couple of hours!) And even the exact room where we had that first audition and changed my life forever.
