YORKSHIRE actors and brothers Anthony and Matthew Lewis are to open a new college for performing arts in their home town.

Harry Potter star Matthew, 24, who played Neville Longbottom in the films, and brother Anthony, 30, who has appeared in Emmerdale, will open Totally Lit North in February.

Based at Yorkshire College of Music and Drama in Leeds, it will give young people aged between 11 and 19 the chance to be coached by top actors.

The drama school follows on from the success of Totally Lit College in London. Artistic director Anthony has more than 20 years’ experience in the business.

He said: “Being a former child actor from Leeds myself, I am fully aware of the huge amount of talent in this area and I am very excited to be working with and encouraging the next crop of young, talented actors.”

Matthew is an official patron of the college and will host masterclasses beside soap stars Bill Ward and Gemma Bissix and actress Katy Manning.

Free workshops will be held next month for potential recruits – details have been posted online at www.totallylitnorth.com.
