VOLUNTEERS have been wrapping toys and gifts donated to the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal aimed at ensuring all young patients get a present this Christmas.

Teams of volunteers from Lloyds Banking group wrapped donated gifts, which will be distributed throughout the children’s wards at Leeds General Infirmary and all other children’s centres throughout the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.

Last Christmas, more than 3,000 toys were donated and the Leeds Children’s Hospital’s Charitable Foundation is expecting a similar number this year.

The foundation’s chief executive David Welch, said: ”This time of year is so magical for children and it’s incredibly important to remember those who may not be able to celebrate as usual.

“We feel extremely thankful for the ongoing generosity of our donors.”
