Heavyweight art arrives

The Henry Moore sculpture Large Two Forms was put into place at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield yesterday.

This year the selection of sculptures at the park changes with five new loans of works by Henry Moore from the Henry Moore Foundation including Upright Motive No. 5 and Mother and Child: Block Seat. Yesterday work was carried out lifting them into place for display in the open air.

The sculpture park displays one of Barbara Hepworth’s last major works The Family of Man. Hepworth’s sculpture Squares with Two Circles (1963) is being shown in close proximity on loan from the Tate.

The park’s executive director Peter Murray said last night he was delighted visitors would have the chance to experience new sculptures alongside more familiar favourites at the park.
