Hello, 999? Our fire station’s in flames
Firefighters were called out to a familiar location today when they responded to an alert at Ripon Fire Station.
An automatic fire detection system at the station in Stonebridgegate alerted firefighters just after midnight. The cause is being investigated but significant fire damage was caused to one fire engine, and some damage to the station.
Another engine has been drafted in and crews are using a spare garage and attending incidents as usual.
