A bride who shed 11st in order to get in shape for her wedding has been crowned as one of the UK's top slimmers.
Laura Powell, 27, from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, lost the weight so she could slip into a slender size 10 dress for her wedding last month.
Mrs Powell was crowned bride slimmer of the year and is one of 10 award winners for the Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Magazine slimmer of the year 2011 competition.
Other winners include Fiona Dunn, 36, from Crediton, Devon, who was crowned "Yummy Mummy" slimmer of the year.
Mrs Dunn was so ashamed of her 19st 7lb frame that she refused to go to a regimental ball with her husband, a Royal Marines sergeant.
But after shedding 8st 7lb, she was able to attend her first ball in a size 12 dress.
Margaret Balneaves also won an award after losing more than half her body weight.
The 51-year-old from Edinburgh became 50-plus slimmer of the year after she dropped her weight from 21 stone to 9st 12lb.
Sarah Humphreys, 26, from Solihull, West Midlands was named entrepreneur slimmer accolade after she shed 10st to become a professional dog walker.
Stephanie Hughes, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, weighed a hefty 23st 8lb before she decided she wanted to lose weight to become a good role model for her six-year-old daughter.
After she slimmed down to 11 stone in 11 months, the 36-year-old became the biggest loser female.
The biggest loser male is 26-year-old Michael Hutchinson, from Sittingbourne, Kent, who lost a jaw-dropping 12st 7lb.
Mr Hutchinson had set his sights on having a gastric band fitted and started to diet to help him shed a few pounds before the operation. However, after slimming successfully on his own, he decided against the surgery.
