Himalayan trek aids cancer hospital

A UNIVERSITY professor has embarked on a fundraising trek through the Himalayas in aid of a Sheffield cancer hospital.

Graham White, a retired dentistry senior lecturer at Sheffield University, flew to Nepal on Sunday, October 24 , and is set to walk through the Everest region for nine days to raise money for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. At 75, the keen walker will be the oldest member of the nine-strong group.

Mr White, from Ecclesall, said: “I have been training hard to prepare, covering over 25 miles a week to ensure I’m up to the challenge – after all I am the oldest of the group.
