She was taken to hospital, where Mr Woodward was told their holiday insurance would not cover the cost of his wife's treatment or flight as she had previously suffered a mild stroke.

Mr Wallace, managing director of All Print Supplies, said he would pay the 25,000 to bring Mrs Woodward home as well as the 2,000 euro per day care bill .

Mr Woodward, 61, said: "I am so grateful to Lynne's boss. I knew Lynne's condition was terminal but, thanks to Mr Wallace, she at least had the chance to come home."
