Honour for cookery school

Bettys Cookery School in Harrogate has beaten dozens of other schools from across the nation to win the accolade of Best Large Recreational Cookery School at the British Cookery School Awards.

Results were announced last night at the awards ceremony held at the Vintners’ Company in London, hosted by head judge and BBC Radio 2’s food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden.

Mr Barden said: “Bettys Cookery School are a passionate team that hold their heritage of craftsmanship and Yorkshire warmth at the heart of all they do.”

He said they take their skills, passion and love of food out to customers, staff and now not only to the local community but right across the county.
