Huddersfield Town fans throw bottle at Raheem Sterling

Huddersfield Town could face a Football Association investigation after a plastic bottle was thrown at Manchester City star Raheem Sterling during Saturday's FA Cup tie.

The England international was warming up on the touchline in front of the main stand in the 63rd minute of the goalless draw when the missile was thrown in his direction.

As the bottle flew just past him to land on the pitch, Sterling, along with nearby team-mates Leroy Sane and Bacary Sagna, looked round accusingly at the crowd.

No action was taken by any of the match officials. City were aware of the incident after the match but are not understood to have made a complaint, while Huddersfield will have to wait to discover if referee Anthony Taylor includes mention of it in his report to the FA.

City manager Pep Guardiola declined to comment when asked about the bottle being thrown at his player. “I prefer not to say anything,” added the Spaniard.

Huddersfield will meet the Blues again next week in a fifth round replay after Saturday’s tie finished level.
