Hundreds of fans wait in line to see Keith Lemon in Leeds

HUNDREDS of fans waited in line for the chance to be part of TV and film star Keith Lemon’s big homecoming.

The Celebrity Juice presenter was back in Leeds to promote his new book Being Keith, fresh off the back of starring in his own film earlier this year.

The queue stretched along Albion Street in the city centre, as fans took the chance to meet the Leeds-born comedian, who was signing copies of his book at Waterstones book shop.

Michelle Naufahu, 39, who was out shopping, snapped up three copies and fan Adam Franklin, 21, who lives in the city centre, also picked up a copy of the book as a present for his girlfriend.

“I waited for about 40 minutes but it was worth it,” he said.

“My girlfriend will be really chuffed. I just think he’s really funny and he has the same sense of humour as me.”

The new book tells the story of the past five years of Keith’s life, including his hugely successful stint fronting Celebrity Juice, his travels around the world and a series of photos and illustrations.

Lemon is the creation of Leeds comic Leigh Francis, who first became popular in the television series Bo Selecta! playing celebrity stalker Avid Merrion and doing impersonations of celebrities like Michael Jackson.

The character then re-appeared in his own spin-off series on ITV2, entitled Keith Lemon’s Very Brilliant World Tour.
