Hundreds tackle Adrenaline Rush endurance challenge event in the grounds of Harewood House

Around 800 people pushed themselves to the limit on Saturday when they competed in the Adrenaline Rush endurance challenge event in the grounds of Harewood House in Leeds.

They could choose between three different course lengths – 5km, 10km and half-marathon – that each featured a selection of obstacles with intimidating names like Leap of Faith, Trapezee and Electric Shock.

It was the first time that the event had been held in Leeds and yesterday one of the organisers revealed that his thoughts were already turning to a possible return visit.

Graham Anderson, a director at Inmotion Sport, said: “I think pretty much everybody got round, although we did have one person who pulled a hamstring.

“The weather was cold but it stayed dry so we didn’t have any mud on the course.

“It all went really well, the feedback was positive and we’d like to come back to Leeds again.”

Some participants took to Twitter to deliver glowing reviews of the day. Macmillan Cancer Support will be one of the beneficiaries of the Adrenaline Rush’s staging in Leeds, with 25 per cent of each entry fee going to help the vital work of the charity.
