Hunt for girl's sex attacker seen lurking near station

Police are hunting for a man after a teenager was sexually assaulted in Burley-in-Wharfedale.

Detectives want to speak to anyone with information about suspicious behaviour near Burley-in-Wharfedale Railway Station following the assault and three earlier incidents of indecent exposure.

The latest incident happened at about 6.30pm on William Fison Ride near the junction of Jill Kilner Drive in Burley-in-Wharfedale on January 9 after two girls, aged 14 and 15, left the station and noticed a man near bushes speaking on a mobile phone.

They were followed as they turned towards William Fison Ride where the 15-year-old was assaulted by the suspect who then ran away.

Detectives are linking the assault with three reported indecent

exposure offences before Christmas – believed to be committed by the same person and one of which happened in William Fison Ride.
